FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Starting therapy comes with questions. That’s normal.

The consultation is a 15-to-20 minute phone call in which you share a little about what is bringing you to therapy, and I tell you more about how I work. Together, we decide whether it feels like a good fit. There is no pressure, no commitment, and no clinical assessment involved.
-
The first sessions give us a chance to get to know each other. I will ask about what brought you to therapy, your history, your current life, and what you are hoping to work toward. It is not an interrogation, it is a conversation that will lay the foundation of what therapy will focus on.
-
Telehealth sessions are conducted via a secure video platform. You will receive a link before each session and can join from your phone, tablet, or computer, any place where you feel comfortable and have privacy. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a quiet space.
-
Individual therapy sessions are typically weekly, especially at the beginning of our work together. Consistency is important for building momentum and seeing real change. As therapy progresses, we may discuss adjusting the frequency.
-
Yes. I ask for at least a 24-hour advance notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged a late-cancellation fee. This policy supports both of our time and the integrity of the therapeutic work.
-
A credit card is required to be kept on file and is used for automatic payments. I accept all major credit cards.

My work is relational, culturally grounded, and deeply human. I draw on evidence-based frameworks including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, as well as Mindfulness-Based, Compassion-Focused, Feminist-Informed and Psychoeducational approaches, among others. However, more than any single model, I bring curiosity, directness, and genuine warmth to the work. I'm not a blank-screen therapist. I show up, I engage, and I'll gently challenge you when it serves your growth.

That is okay. The free consultation call is designed exactly for that uncertainty. You do not have to have it all figured out before reaching out. Give yourself the opportunity to talk to me, get a sense of what therapy with me looks like, and then you decide. No pressure.
Midlife is not the beginning of the end. It is sometimes the first time many women feel safe enough to ask what they actually want.
